State Department Decides Murder Is OK

The State Department promised Blackwater USA bodyguards immunity from prosecution in its investigation of last month's deadly shooting of 17 Iraqi civilians, The Associated Press has learned.

As a result, it will likely be months before the United States can — if ever — bring criminal charges in the case that has infuriated the Iraqi government.

"Once you give immunity, you can't take it away," said a senior law enforcement official familiar with the investigation.

Isn't it only murder if you kill a human? These weren't real people, they were Iraqi civilians...and ungrateful ones at that.

Oh no, Steve. It's a utility issue. Iraqis, as everyone knows have fewer units of utility than Americans. Comparing utility units, the deaths of 17 Iraqis is equivalent to about 2.3 American deaths. It's still murder; just not, like, mass murder.

And because partial murder makes no sense, the case is thrown out whenever the equivalent number of dead Americans isn't an integer.

That's right, MT. Isn't there some fractional number which, multiplied by each integer to infinity, will at no point equal any integer? That number would be the Iraqi utility unit.
